Frequently Asked Questions

ABA Services for Families

What is ABA therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence based approach that helps children build meaningful skills used in everyday life. ABA teaches communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, independence, and positive behavior through supportive teaching and reinforcement. Sessions are individualized to your child’s strengths and family goals.

Who benefits from ABA?

Children with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, anxiety-related behavior, difficulty with routines, challenges with communication, or behavior concerns at home or school often benefit from ABA. Many families seek ABA because they want calmer routines, improved communication, or support with emotional regulation.

How do I know if my child needs ABA?

ABA may be helpful if your child struggles with communication, transitions, emotional regulation, following directions, safety, social interactions, or daily routines such as morning, bedtime, toileting, or feeding.

What does ABA look like in the home?

Home based ABA uses your child’s natural routines such as meals, play, chores, homework, and transitions. We model strategies for communication, coping skills, flexibility, and independence. Parents receive clear tools they can use daily.

How many hours of ABA will my child need?

Recommendations vary based on goals, age, and family needs. Some children receive 6 to 10 hours weekly; while others may need 15 to 35 hours. We recommend hours based on your child’s goals, needs, and family schedule.

Do parents participate in sessions?

Parent involvement is essential. We provide coaching, modeling, and support so progress continues across home and school environments. Families learn strategies that make routines smoother and more predictable

Is ABA play-based?

Modern ABA integrates play, child choice, modeling, and reinforcement. Learning happens through games, natural routines, and activities your child enjoys. We focus on helping your child feel safe, motivated, and understood.

How does ABA help with communication and emotional regulation?

ABA teaches communication and emotional regulation by helping children learn the skills they need to express themselves, understand their feelings, and respond more calmly to everyday challenges. We break complex skills into smaller, achievable steps and teach them through play, modeling, and positive reinforcement.
