What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy grounded in the science of learning and behavior. It is widely recognized as one of the most effective interventions for children and adults with autism and other developmental delays or disorders. Over the past four decades, thousands of published, peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated its success in improving skills and reducing behaviors that interfere with daily life. ABA therapy can support growth in many areas, including communication, social interaction, daily living skills, and behavior management. By understanding how behavior works in real-life situations, ABA helps individuals develop new skills, strengthen positive behaviors, and navigate challenges more effectively.

At Butterfly Evolutions, we personalize ABA therapy to each child’s needs, providing support in-home, at school, and in community settings. Our goal is to create meaningful, lasting progress that enhances the quality of life for both the individual and their family.

Intake Forms

After completing intake forms, we’ll help verify your benefits and guide you through the authorization process. We make sure you know what is covered and what steps are required before services begin. If you’re choosing private pay, we’ll walk through those options with you as well.

Intake & Family Consult

We schedule an intake meeting with you to learn more about your child and your family’s goals. This is where you share what daily life looks like, what challenges you’re experiencing, and what successes you’d like to see. Your voice is central in shaping the plan.

Comprehensive Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will meet with your child, observe in the home environment, and gather information from parents, caregivers, and, if appropriate, teachers. We may also review past evaluations and use assessment tools to get a full picture of your child’s strengths and needs.

 Insurance Approval

After the assessment, your BCBA develops a treatment plan with recommended therapy hours. If you are using insurance, the plan and hours must be submitted to and approved by your insurance company before services can begin. Our team handles this process for you and keeps you informed of the timeline.

Caregiver Training Sessions

Before direct therapy begins with a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), the BCBA leads caregiver training sessions. These sessions ensure parents and caregivers understand the treatment plan, learn strategies to use at home, and feel confident supporting their child. This step strengthens consistency and helps set therapy up for long-term success.

Tiered ABA Services Begin

Once the plan is approved and caregiver training is complete, a trained Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) begins working directly with your child. The RBT delivers therapy sessions in the home using play, routines, and positive reinforcement, all under the close supervision and guidance of your BCBA.
